We’re in the process of building on-farm all-season housing for interested guests and summer workers.
Our first renovation project, the Schoolhouse, was completed in the spring of 2017, and is accepting bookings for farm visits. This building was the historic one-room schoolhouse for our neighborhood (one of 13 tiny schoolhouses in Shaftsbury!). When it closed in 1938, our family purchased it and incorporated it into the life of the farm. It housed employees, friends, and family for about 75 years without a major update. Starting in 2015, we began renovating it from it’s original hand-hewn timbers and built it back to a cozy, energy-efficient cottage, ready to welcome visitors. It is a 2 bedroom, 1 bath cottage, that sleeps up to 6, with full amenities, and sweeping views all around. If you’re interested in booking the Schoolhouse, you can visit its Airbnb listing.
In the summer of 2018, we’ll also be offering stays in a seriously decked-out yurt sleeping 4, and a timber-framed treehouse that will sleep 4—both with incredible mountain views from their windows. In the coming years, we plan to add a mix of additional 4 season offerings as well as more glamp-ing options.
