Over 90 years on this Vermont hillside
Studio Hill is a working farm in Shaftsbury, Vermont—stewarded by the same family since 1936. Five generations have lived on and loved this ground, and the grass is greener for it. We are grateful to be part of this chapter and for the story of the farm to continue with the next generation.
Ecological Regeneration through Agriculture
We improve the ecological functioning of these hillsides through the Holistic Planned Grazing of our flock of sheep. They are entirely grass-fed and are grazed year-round on our hay and pasture. We are also New England’s only Accredited Savory Institute Holistic Management Training Hub: serving as an example of the regenerative power of Holistic Management.
New Partnership with Bell & Burrow Farm
We’ve joined forces with our neighbors at Bell & Burrow, bringing Holistic Planned Grazing to a second farm and doubling the ground under our care. Together we are developing extensive silvopasture—trees and pasture working as one system—and collecting and sharing the data as we go, so other farms can learn from what these hillsides teach us.

The Schoolhouse at Studio Hill sleeps six just at the top of a working pasture—wake up to the flock out the window, walk the hill with the farmers, and see ecological regeneration up close. Enjoy the sauna, hot tub, outdoor shower, soaking tub, fully-equipped kitchen, hiking trails, and more!

Farm Store
Regenerative grass-fed lamb and naturally tanned sheepskins are currently stocked in our partner’s site in the Bell & Burrow Farm Store. Reserve your quarter, half, or whole lamb share today. Additional sheepskins will be added throughout this fall and into the holiday season. Stay tuned!

NSIP Katahdin Breeding Stock
We manage a flock of 100 Katahdin breeding ewes. After over a decade managed within a regenerative grazing operation, the flock thrives on an all-grass diet. Our program selects for strong growth rates, parasite-resistance, easy temperaments, independent lambing, and other desirable traits well adapted to our bioregion management practices. We are members of the National Sheep Improvement Program (NSIP).
We are currently sold out of 2026 breeding stock. If you would like to join the list for 2027 breeding stock lambs, please contact us.
